Brilliance in Blogging.
A few weeks ago I asked you, my lovely readers to consider voting for me in the prestigious blog awards called Brilliance In Blogging (BiBs) with this post here.
These blog awards recognise new bloggers and their achievements within the blogging world.
I started my blog back in October for a way to raise awareness of disabilities, and share what little knowledge i do have of my particular disabilities: Arthritis and Uveitis Iritis.
Over these past 6 months I have been able to spread my message, and connect with so many fantastic bloggers, some of which are doing what I do. Using their voice to spread awareness and share their stories.
As you may know I like to challenge stereotypes, and find the funny side of my disability, because for me, laughter has been the best medicine!
However, I still want to share the serious side of disability and how it impacts those who may be disabled, or the people that care for them.
And I am proud to say I am achieving that with my Disability Q&A, sharing Guest Posts, reviews(these here are links, so please feel free to click on them to check out what I have been doing with this blog), and soon I am to be launching a new LinkY with the fabulous Hol called #PurpleElephant as a way of connecting people, being a platform for communicating and sharing their ideas, joys and frustrations: as a disabled person, or, a person who cares for a loved one with a disability.
I feel like my blog is really taking off, and I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful community. Who knew that I would have made some amazing friends, and fantastic connections, with such great people, just by tip tapping away in my little corner of the internet? 🙂
I asked you to vote for me, in the BiBs because, I hope what I am trying to achieve is valuable to others, as well as myself. But I truly never thought, for one moment I would actually be shortlisted.
But by some miracle I did!!
It was actually my lovely Friend katie who brought it to my attention yesterday morning! I had completely forgotten that the shortlist was going live, not because I didn’t care, but because I never expected in my wildest dreams I would make it!
I was expecting my blogger friends to reach the shortlist, an I would be joining in with the congratulations, whoops and cheers of delight for them.
So it came as a massive shock to find out that little old me had been shortlisted!
As I previously said, these blog awards really are prestigious! More than 50,00 votes were cast across 12 categories for the awards, organised by BritMums and is the UK’s largest and most influential collective of lifestyle and social influencers!
Which then gets whittled down to 10 bloggers per category!
So you can imagine my utter shock finding out that not only was I shortlisted, but in the same category as some of my most favourite bloggers. These people literally are fantastic and have thousands of follows and readers!
And i’m up there with them!
Truly it’s a privilege and an honour!
I am so proud of my little blog, and what I have achieved so far! And I really and truly hope that i can take it much further, spreading awareness far and wide!
So, my fabulous, wonderful, amazing readers I would be ecstatic if you would please vote for me once more,, to help me become a finalist in the Bibs, and who knows (lets think mega crazy for a second) even a winner?
*Does happy dance, while grinning like a Cheshire cat!*
I highly doubt I will win, because I am up against ginormous talent! But to be a finalist would actually make my dreams come true!!
Please vote for me in the category of inspire, I can’t give you anything in return, but I hope you want to help me spread awareness, tackle stereotypes, and help combat stigma of having a disability!
YOU are the reason I was shortlisted, without your ongoing support, kindness and sharing of my content I wouldn’t be here writing this
So I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
You can vote for me only once, and you can do this by clicking the badge at the top or bottom of the page. Votes close at midnight on 18th of May, so you only have a few weeks.
Biggest hugs and love to you all!
