Do I inspire you?

Is it just me or does this question seem a bit big headed to you?

Over the years I have been given this badge of honour, and worn it with pride whenever someone in life has called me an inspiration… But in all honesty I don’t think i’m an inspiration at all, i’m just another girl bumbling through life trying to find her way; hopefully without smashing into too many things or people in the process!
😉 I have always felt very sheepish, but humbled if ever anyone has referred to me as inspirational. Mostly because I have met many people from all walks of life, who I deem as truly inspirational. Their go get em’ attitude or fighting for equality when the entire world seems against them inspires me.

I’m in a place in my life where I thought i’d never be but in the strangest of ways i’m the happiest i’ve ever been. Blogging has given me a place to put my story on paper, with the hope of challenging stereotypes and educating people about disabilities.

In my heart, i’m only scratching at the surface at what i would like to achieve both personally and professionally, but I am proud to say my blog has opened up a brand new world to me; meeting fabulous people online, some bloggers, some not, but those who I now class as friends. These same people have inspired me to write posts, or have put a smile on my face for leaving such wonderful and encouraging comments on my blog.

My aim is to work with brands/ charities being an advocate for people in the visually impaired world and mental health sector. To encourage people to be more open about discussing disabilities and sharing their stories. Life may throw us lemons but instead of feeling sour, use those lemons to shot tequila and party like it’s your birthday! 😉

The BIBs are awards given to bloggers to recognise their talents and efforts in blogging. It is set up by BritMums and to learn more you can check it out here. I know I am not a Mother, and don’t worry Mum and Dad I’m NOT expecting! But BritMums are a fantastic organisation giving everyone in the blogging community a voice, whether or not you are a parent.
After speaking to my blogging friends about whether or not I should even enter myself for the awards (with their lovely responses of definitely!), it was suggested that I should be in the category of Inspire.
I’m still not sure if I completely fit into this category, as I don’t think I have inspired anyone, or see myself as an inspiration, but if you think my hopes, dreams and aspirations through this blog fit with being even slightly inspiring I would love you to consider nominating me.

So this is where I get on my knees and ungraciously beg, you, my lovely readers to vote for me… Well actually you’ll have to pretend i’m kneeling, my Arthritis doesn’t permit such things!

If you have enjoyed any of my ramblings over these past few months, and think I am deserving of an award, I would be honoured and humbled if you would nominate me for the Inspire category, Here are a few of my posts just to refresh your memory 🙂
Let’s talk about depression.
Physical challenges of being disabled.

Oh, who am I kidding? I’d be more hysterical than a 12 year old girl at a Justin Beiber concert, if I were to win!

My little corner of the internet is a place for me to share my thoughts and gives me a place to put the little bit of knowledge I do have, down on paper, but without you lovely readers, liking, commenting and sharing my posts, I probably would have given this up a while ago.
So thank you to YOU! Your encouragement and support is invaluable to me!
